22 Acre rock quarry on Hwy 38, only 9 miles from Hwy 101 in Reedsport.  This has not yet been developed for mining.  The current property owner has been granted a conditional use permit by the Douglas County planning department to allow for  mining of aggregate resources in the (TR) Timberland Resource Zone and the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) has granted access rights for use of the highway for rock quarry purposes.

Preliminary Quantity Calculation reports 24,460,000 cubic yards of aggregate.  It is undetermined as to the quality of the aggregate.  It may or may not meet state specifications for asphalt, however can be used for driveways, topping rock, concrete and other uses.
