Feeling sluggish lately?  It’s time to get out and explore the Oregon Coast…summer is here!

Living in Bandon Oregon you are a short drive away to some of the most beautiful hiking trailheads the Southern Oregon Coast has to offer.  One of my latest adventures was a hike to Blacklock Point, approximately 25 miles south of Bandon past Langlois and before Port Orford west on Airport Rd.  The trail is about 4 miles long round trip and at the halfway point you are standing on the cliffs, overlooking the majestic views of the Pacific Ocean.  On a clear day to the south, you can see Cape Blanco lighthouse, the westernmost point in Oregon.  Making it a perfect spot for a picnic lunch while enjoying the scenery and taking pictures for the memory book.

This trail is mostly flat and perfect for the family (jogging strollers will make it too!), great for biking, and spectacular views that will take your breath away. So whether you’re local, just driving through, here on vacation, or looking to relocate, this mini adventure is well worth your time.  Make sure to take a quick look at a trail map as it does connect to Floras Lakes making for a longer hike at about 10 miles round trip.

The forest has a pulse of its own…feel the beat!
